Our Specialist view of the Lenovo V530s Small Form Factor PC
The Spec:
The Lenovo V530s Small Form Factor (SFF) PC has the following spec: a SFF chassis weighing roughly 4.2 kg packed with a 8th generation Intel Core i5 6 core processor, 8GB DDR4 fast RAM, a 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD), memory card reader, DVD R/W optical drive and Windows 10 Pro preinstalled to give more functionality for professionals and businesses. Plenty of connectivity options including USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet. Trust Platform Module 2.0 (TPM 2.0) is also present so an end user upgrade to Windows 11 will be supported.
The Good Bits:
A compact chassis but packed full of more up to date hardware. Starting with the chassis itself, it’s a streamlined PC that is compact and modern and wouldn’t dominate space in an office or the home. The V530s is one of the most up to date PC’s we have stocked because of the 6 (hexa) core 8th generation i5 processor and DDR4 RAM, which offers faster performance when compared to DDR3 RAM. Another big plus point is TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module 2.0). This is massively important because it enables this PC to support Windows 11, which can also be downloaded by the end user for free.
The Not So Good Bits:
The downside to have more updated spec such as DDR4 RAM and a NVME type SSD is that they are more expensive to buy so any future upgrades will hit the pocket harder than it would do if this PC has DDR3 RAM or a standard 2.5” or mechanical hard drive.
The Design:
Modern sleek and space saving design, a plethora of ports that are also up to date, the V530s is almost the complete package. We really like the number and variation of connectivity ports you get with this Lenovo computer, it’s clear the end user has been carefully considered.
Suitability:
We decided quite early on that this V530s would look great in the office, and not just because of its modern design, it won’t take up loads of room on a desk or dominate a room.
