Great laptop, but short battery life

Don't be fooled by the reference to 'an all-day battery', some versions of the T480 can indeed run all day but this one won't even manage all afternoon. This is a dual battery laptop that can have a 24Wh internal battery as well as a 24Wh, 48Wh or 72Wh replaceable battery but is only supplied with a 24Wh replaceable battery, the internal 24Wh battery is NOT fitted. The battery in the one I was supplied is down to 85% of rated capacity, not unreasonable for a refurbished computer, and lasts for 3 hours of web browsing if the screen brightness is kept low. On the plus side, screen and keyboard are both excellent. It isn't mentioned in the specification but this laptop has a mechanical shutter to cover the camera when not needed, which is good for privacy. The RJ45 socket for wired ethernet is also good for nerdy users like me :) If anyone is put off by the ugly bright red pointing stick nestled in the keboard then it is very easy to remove, just pull it off. This is a great laptop, but if you want decent battery life then budget for an extra battery.
