Espresso maker does what it says

I got this device a few days ago. The box contained the device, a coffee scoop, a cable, and a short, basic leaflet with diagrams of how it works. Initially, I didn't understand exactly what the diagrams meant, so I pressed the buttons in the wrong sequence and misloaded the coffee. The water reservoir is quite small and will do one small shot before a refill. However, after about 4 or 5 attempts I got it to work. One plus point from this repeated use: the battery was fine. It will do at least 5 shots without a recharge. I did the electrical recharge with a USB-C plug for a laptop. The charging took over an hour, I didn't note the exact time taken. But the initial brew was not satisfactory. The small print in the description said that an espresso grind had to be used and my grinder doesn't quite go that small. The next day, I went again, using some ready-ground espresso-specific powder - very finely ground. I tamped it firmly into the holder and screwed it in tightly, as recommended. I think the results this time were pretty good. Certainly as good as the kind of machines that it is compared with. Don't expect the greatest coffee you have ever tasted. But a passable shot, like a Nespresso machine: yes it can do it.
