Our Specialist view of the HP EliteDisplay E231 23 inch Monitor
How it’s currently spec’d:
The refurbished HP E231 PC monitor has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio Full High Definition (FHD) display with a native resolution at 60Hz of 1920 x 1080. The LED backlit computer screen has a superb heavy duty stand that makes the EliteDisplay E231 really adjustable so it can manipulated to suit most users needs. Three different video connections including VGA, DVI and DisplayPort covering more or less all the most common types and a 2 port USB hub.
Where we think it excels:
It excels with its stand that is actually more versatile that most other similar spec monitors. Key to the stand is the pivoting that allows the user to move it from landscape to portrait mode. The E231 also offers a multitude of video connections so there should be no issue connecting your monitor straight out of the box.
What we think its drawbacks are:
Colour appearance (colour fidelity) isn’t the a strong hand of the E231, something to bear in mind when looking at images on screen along with the non-IPS panel, which when looking from more extreme angles does make it difficult to see the screen.
What we think of the design:
Not pretty but what do can be expected of a monitor designed for function over form. Don’t take that as it being tired and last century, it won’t look out of place in most areas.
Who it’s suitable for:
Office or education for this HP E231 monitor. Feature full and nicely designed for function over form.
