The Spec:

This 27 inch refurb Apple iMac All in One computer is spec’d as follows: a quite beautiful Quad HD 2560 x 1440 resolution Apple widescreen IPS LED display that looks just amazing at almost any angle. A 4^th gen Intel Core i5 Quad Core processor with 32GB RAM and a massive 1000GB mechanical SATA hard drive PLUS 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD) make up the main hardware in this iMac. In terms of network connectivity it as WiFi, gigabit LAN and Bluetooth along with a HD webcam, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt ports. It comes preinstalled with operating system 10.15 Catalina.  

The Good Bits:                  

Apple products never do look out of place do they and at 27 inches there is just so much screen real estate. Despite it being released in mid 2013 it still looks sleek and modern and suitable for any environment. We also love the fact it’s loaded with connectivity solutions. No wired LAN access points no problem. The internal wireless card means you can connect to a wireless network. No wireless network connection again no problem! A gigabit Ethernet connection means faster and more stable internet access. You’ll find loads of ports on the back within easy reach for peripherals, another monitor and for SD and MicroSD cards. Best of all, this iMac comes with an operating system that will still support the latest apps.

The Not So Good Bits:

Perhaps typical of Apple and their products, they look great and perform so efficiently but expanding/upgrading them is akin to performing open heart surgery with no knowledge of open heart surgery at all. Ok so perhaps that’s a bit of an exaggeration but Apple do make it tough to do any upgrades because of the need to remove the screen to get to the RAM and hard drive. It’s not impossible but made trickier and all the more expensive make your system quicker.

The Design:

What’s not to love about how this iMac looks? Its slim profile coupled with the slim bezel and brushed aluminium, it’s a work of art. Apple really knows how to nail the design aspect and at the same time remember to include plenty of ports and incorporate a simply but effective cable tidy in the stand. 10/10 from us.

Suitability:

There isn’t an environment we can’t see this pc in, whether that be in a school or college, on a reception desk or design agency or even at home as an affordable Apple iMac option.
