What would you use it for?

WiFi networks are excellent because they allow us to connect to the internet without being restricted by cables and therefore having to stay in one place at home or work. WiFi network range extenders are by name, designed to increase the range of a wireless network to cover areas of poor/no signal. This is commonly found in buildings with thick walls, lots of obstacles or a greater distance between the wireless device and the wireless router.

What’s good about it?

Compared to a lot of other ranger extenders there isn’t much to split the Tenda from the rest of the pack. The A9 N300 is plug and play so no complicated set up routine. It also has 2 antennas and offers speeds up to 300Mbps. What the Tenda A9 does offer that you won’t find on to many similar devices is the Smart Signal Indicator. This helps you put the extender in the optimum position rather than just guessing.

Are there any drawbacks?

A spare mains outlet is required and as the Tenda A9 doesn’t have a pass through option, that socket is now no longer available. It’s only a minor drawback but a drawback none the less.

Are there alternative products available?

There are so many different WiFi range extenders available it can sometimes feel like a bit of a minefield trying to choose the best one for you but the Tenda A9 is one of those networking accessories that are ideal for the home or office.
