Our Specialist view of the HP Elite 8000 Small Form Factor (SFF) PC

The Spec:

The HP Elite 8000 Small Form Factor refurbished PC has the following spec: an Intel Core 2 Duo dual core processor, 2GB RAM with 4 individual slots, a 250GB SATA III mechanical hard drive and Intel graphics. This SFF chassis does also have a DVD ROM optical drive. Windows 10 Professional is preinstalled for the end user convenience.

The Good Bits:

There aren’t that many things to shout about with this HP PC. Its basic spec doesn’t lend itself to gaming or any demanding bits of software. It does however have 4 RAM slots so it can support up to 16GB RAM and the VGA and DisplayPort connections will enable a dual screen set up. The side of the PC is also easily removed to perform RAM upgrades or even install an SSD.

The Not So Good Bits:

It’s basic computing in a nutshell. A small amount of installed RAM, an older Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a mechanical hard drive. If you are looking for something with a bit more power, we have some very reasonably priced PC’s with Intel Core i5 processors and more RAM.

The Design:

Aesthetically it really isn’t much to look at but the big plus point, which we touched on earlier in this review, is that upgrades and general maintenance is easily done because one side removes without having to remove hundreds of screws.

Suitability:

We feel this spec of PC is very much suited to home use for someone that is just starting their journey in to computing.
