Customer Reviews
Bargain TomTom,
TomTom is my favourite SatNav brand and this model is both a bargain and pretty good, although not perfect. Prompt despatch and delivery: ordered Xmas Eve pm, despatched next working day (27th) and arrived next morning in the 1 hr window advised by e-mail from DPD - who refer to Morgan Computers as Bentham Ltd. Requires use of a Windows PC or an Intel-based Mac for updates. During set-up you have to set a Home location, but, unlike every other SatNav that I've owned or used during the last 3 decades, the preloaded PostCode Address File lists the 3 postcodes for our street as Unnamed Road despite it being an A road and having a name as shown on the TomTom map! The whole Setup/Update process took over 2½ hours, the Updates took an hour to download (12+Mb Broadband!) and then another hour to install. Approx 4½ Gb to download. Despite the first Done! Message, dont be in too much of a hurry to disconnect the Start 20 when the first, major, update is complete subsequent updates may need to be downloaded and installed. Now for the good bits: This model correctly handles destinations without a Street Name - a long-standing and serious defect in later Start models (e.g. 52) that use a 'hierarchical search method' which requires the 'correct' street/road name for the destination presumably every road in Holland has a name! This model works as you'd expect, put in a postcode and even if it doesn't have the house numbers it'll still take you to the centre of the postcode. In the past, I've never found PoIs to be useful, but using the PoI database, the Start 20 took me right into the car park of a particular Unit at a major hospital, while the postcode left me outside the pedestrian entrance 30 yards before the car park entrance. The unit happily sits on a table on its sucker and the display re-orients itself when the unit is rotated 180. It doesnt have or require either a charger/connection mount or a mains power adaptor. It's supplied with a combined USB power/connection cable and a car lighter adapter. It can also be powered from any USB sources capable of supplying 500mA, though it will recharge faster with a source capable of providing 1.2A (1200mA).

TomTom SatNav,
Have had a quick look at it, seems a lot better than the very old I had. Trying it out tomorrow on an actual journey and will let you know the outcome My old one the speaking part let me down.

Fantastic Sat Nav,
So this is my second TomTom and the improvements in 10 years is amazing. Easy to use and the lifetime map upgrades are great. Taking to Montenegro next week fot its first outing abroad

A very useful satnav,
This is my first satnav and I wish I had bought it a long time ago. It has a clear, colourful screen with voice instructions. I have had several updates already. I think it is well worth the money I paid and would recommend it to anyone, especially people hoping to purchase one of good value.
