Our Specialist view of the Dell XPS 13 9370 laptop

The Spec:

The Refurbished Dell XPS 13 9370 touchscreen laptop has a quite amazing spec and looks fantastic. Powered by a 8th generation Quad Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and Intel UHD graphics, the XPS 13 also has a 256GB Solid State Drive, a backlit keyboard and a HD webcam. WiFi, Bluetooth and a card reader is standard along with USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 ports. The jewel on top of this spectacular crown is the 13.3” 4K Quad HD InfinityEdge touchscreen display with a thin bezel and the latest Windows 11 Professional preinstalled.

The Good Bits:

So impressive from the moment you pick up this laptop. What gets you first is the weight, or lack thereof, weighing in at less than 1.30kg and the premium design feel. Upon opening the lid and you’re greeted by a 13.3” 4K Quad HD+ display with an ultra narrow bezel that makes it look like there is nothing but screen. Boot time is next to nothing because of the PCIe based SSD and in the short time is takes to get up and running you can work in almost any light with the backlit keyboard. All the good looks is nothing without some substance to back it up, which thanks to the blazing fast Quad Core i7 processor, DDR4 RAM and PCIe based SSD, the XPS 13 has is spades.

The Not So Good Bits:

You have to be really picky when looking for faults with this laptop, so much so it almost feels wrong doing it. But, for the sake of a balanced review, the lack of a standard video connection, HDMI or otherwise and no Ethernet port is a big drawback. Dell did add a Thunderbolt 3 port which can be used to connect an external display but to do this you’d need to spend more money buying an adapter. On the subject of an Ethernet port, we always find it’s better to have it than not because it provides a more stable internet connection and most work places will provide that over WiFi.

The Design:

There isn’t much more to say on this that hasn’t already been said. The screen is spectacular; it weighs next to nothing and has a fantastic keyboard that can be illuminated. To top this all off the XPS 13 is make from aluminium, cut from a single block which provides a more durable chassis.

With looks and performance, this Dell XPS 13 can make a real statement for a business professional wanting to make an impression with a potential new client or blast through day today tasks with ease at home or in the office.
