The Spec:
This refurbished Dell notebook / laptop has a 14 inch matt screen that has a HD resolution. The meat of the laptop is comprised of a 4th Gen Intel Core i5 dual core processor, doubled down 8GB RAM and an uprated 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD). The E6440 also benefits from USB 3.0, VGA and HDMI connectivity plus WiFi and Ethernet. Windows 10 Professional is preinstalled along with a webcam for your work from or study from home convenience.
The Good Bits:
First and foremost, this Dell E6440 has more RAM and a faster hard drive than our other stock of E6440's. It’s certainly tough and reliable though it won’t win any prizes in the looks category. That doesn’t really have much importance with this laptop as it excels at the basics and that is web browsing, word processing, watching YouTube and online banking. The 14” screen is ideal for those tasks and won’t put too much strain on your eyes if you work for an extended period of time. You can easily connect to a larger monitor and even enable extended display.
The Not So Good Bits:
While the E6440 has a full sized keyboard, it does lack the separate number pad that would be ideal for entering data in to spreadsheets.
The Design:
Overall it’s not the worst looking laptop. It’s not sleek and modern, especially as it is almost 3.5cm thick with the lid closed and weights over 2 kilos. The brushed silver finish on the lid gives it a modern-ish look and the military spec ruggedness of the Tri-metal chassis helps it withstand a bump or two. It’s also loaded with plenty of ports that are spread evenly and are easy to access.
